Basalt, granite are igneous rocks, and you can see the definitions of all three:
Igneous rock
Definition: igneous rocks are formed from rocks in the mantle or crust that are either partially melted or partially melted by cooling and solidifying something, such as magma.It may also contain volatile matter and some solid substances, such as crystals and rock fragments.
granite
A deep acidic igneous rock of the igneous variety, having large, similar-sized crystalline grains with a Mosaic and granular crystalline structure, with different minerals interlocked in regular or irregular patterns.
basalt
A dense or foamy rock of magmatic structure formed by the cooling and solidification of magma from volcanoes.
