Where Does Grey Granite Come From

Dec 21, 2017

Granite is a widely distributed type of rock, and many countries in the world produce granite. Granite rock in China accounts for about 9% of the country's land area, reaching more than 800,000 square kilometers, especially in the southeast of the China, exposing a large area of various types of granite body, showing its large reserves. According to incomplete statistics, there are about 300 kinds of granite rocks.

Grey granite is one kind of the granite, but also the most abundant kind. Because granite is a deep pluton, often able to form a well-developed, macroscopical mineral particles, hence the name. Granite and basalts belong to the same magmatic rocks, except that during the magma eruption, the granites are underground and formed under high pressure. The texture is much more rigid than the basalt formed after it was ejected. Granite is a deep acid-rich igneous rock formed by the condensation of magma in the deep underground. Part of granite is a gneiss or mixed rock that has been metamorphosed by magmatic and sedimentary rocks. The main mineral composition of granite feldspar, quartz, mica, etc., quartz content is 10% to 50%. Feldspar content of about 2/3 of the total, is divided into orthoclase, plagioclase (soda lime) and slightly plagioclase (potash). Different varieties of mineral composition vary, but also may contain pyroxene and hornblend.

Granite is a volcanic eruption of lava and is subject to considerable pressure in the molten state uplift to the surface of the crust rocks. Some people think that it is the result of granitization caused by deep metamorphism and metasomatism. Many non-ferrous metal minerals such as copper, lead, zinc, tungsten, tin, bismuth, molybdenum, etc., precious metals such as gold, silver, rare metals such as niobium, tantalum, beryllium, radioactive elements such as uranium, thorium, are related to granite. In the formation of the crust surface, slowly move to cool down. Belongs to one of igneous rock, igneous rock is formed by cooling and solidification crystallization of magma or lava containing silicate melt. When molten magma condenses, minerals form in igneous rocks, such as olivine and pyroxene. The most dense ferromagnesian silicate minerals formed at the highest magma temperatures; less dense minerals, such as feldspar and quartz, formed at the end of cooling. The minerals formed in the lava can usually grow without restraint and have well-developed crystalline forms. Because its higher hardness and durable, grey granite is the ideal material for the production of wall tiles and ground floor.

Granite is varietal and colorful, it can provide a wide range of options for customers all over the world. Grey granite, in particular, is the first choice for global buyers because of its superior price and abundant particles. Granite countertops are easy to maintain, strong anti-fouling ability. Overall, the gray granite floor tiles provide the user with an extremely durable and easy-to-maintain surface. In addition, unlike synthetic materials, natural granite countertops have a unique temperature resistance, it is the first choice for processing all types of sheet metal. Granite is very easy to clean, and the appearance of color can be maintained for more than a century, due to its high hardness, wear resistance, except to high-level architectural decoration works, outside the hall, it also a good choice for open-air sculptures.
